From simple legal advice to expert opinions at the Scientific Technopark named after Zh. Akylbayev was presented with an online legal service LegalExpert.kz, developed on the basis of the Karaganda National Research University named after academician E. A. Buketov The platform will expand access to justice and legal aid as well as help improve the legal literacy of the population

Rector of the University Nurlan Dulatbekov noted the social significance of the initiative thanks to which the scientific potential was transformed into a useful digital tool

— The relevance of the project increases in the context of ongoing constitutional reforms the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan already contains the ideas of science education culture and human capital development in the preamble which creates a solid foundation for further development of the scientific sphere and strengthens the role of universities in the socioeconomic development of the country said Nurlan Dulatbekov

LegalExpert.kz is a free digital service with 24/7 round—the-clock access It will be useful for both ordinary citizens and lawyers

The platform is developed on the basis of artificial intelligence and will allow you to get an answer to a question of interest in the civil criminal and administrative procedural spheres Moreover, the answer will be generated on the basis of current legislation real judicial practice with existing court decisions on a similar situation will point out the risks and offer recommendations on what and how to do

The service was launched in a pilot mode for residents of the Karaganda region but the analysis showed that during this time residents of other regions of Kazakhstan and even from abroad were registered here To date, it has been used by more than 5,000 users

Each of the participants of the presentation was able to test the functionality of the service and get acquainted with its capabilities They noted the relevance and social significance of the project as well as the importance of developing digital legal instruments and effective collaboration between government agencies the scientific community and citizens

The project is based on international experience In many countries, AI—based digital legal services are already being actively used to address the so-called Justice Gap, a gap in access to justice especially among socially vulnerable and remote populations Therefore, the research group plans trips to remote rural regions where it will conduct face-to-face consultations and explanatory meetings with the population This will expand the scope of the project and increase its real social impact

The improvement of the platform will continue In the future, users will be able to use it to generate the documents necessary to participate in the trial

— Documents will be created automatically The user will be able to see the current state of the case in the role of the plaintiff or the defendant The system will take into account the situation and the stage of the proceedings and offer appropriate assistance In addition links and links to the official websites of the courts will be posted on the platform" said Amantai Abdolla, a member of the research group
