A firefighter from Karaganda won a bronze medal at the Asian MMA Championship

The Asian GAMMA MMA (International Association of Mixed Martial Arts) Championship was held in the city of Luzhou (China). An employee of the Emergency Department of the Karaganda region, Marat Abatov, adequately represented Kazakhstan on the international stage.

A firefighter from Karaganda has been practicing mixed martial arts for the fifth year. At the Asian Championships, Marat Batiatov competed in the weight category up to 60 kg. After two fights, he became the bronze medalist.

This is not the first sports award of a lifeguard athlete. Let us remind you that last year Marat Tabatov became the champion of Kazakhstan in MMA. According to the firefighter, martial arts classes not only conquer pedestals, but also stay in shape in order to cope with their work responsibilities. Training develops endurance, strength, quickness of reaction and the ability to keep cool in any situation.
