Ermaganbet Bulekpayev congratulated Karaganda boxers on their high achievements at the World Championship

Karaganda boxers showed high results at the World Championships in the United Arab Emirates: Ablaikhan Zhusupov became the IBA world champion, and Sabyrzhan Akkalykov won the silver medal. Akim of the region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev congratulated the athletes on their successful performance and presented them with cash certificates.

The head of the region stressed that the results of the Karaganda boxers serve as an example for young people and confirm that high goals are achieved through daily work and discipline.

These achievements are the result of perseverance, many years of hard work, strong character and professional work of the whole team. You have represented our country with honor, demonstrating a high level of training, endurance and the will to win. Every victory is backed by hours of training, the support of coaches, parents and specialists. We sincerely thank everyone who has been a part of this journey. We are proud of you and we are sure that you have many more victories and new heights ahead of you," said Ermaganbet Bulekpayev.

Ablaikhan Zhusupov said that the championship was held at a very high level: the strongest boxers in the world took part in the competition. On the way to gold, he fought five matches and won all of them.

— In general, everything went as planned: both the preparation for the World Cup and the fights themselves. Of course, there were difficulties. Before that, at three world championships, I stopped at the semifinal stage and won bronze medals three times, so there was excitement. But the experience gained over the years has helped a lot," says the champion. — I would like to note one important point: in 2007, Serik Sapiev became the world champion from Karaganda for the second time. It was this year that I started boxing in Abai. After 18 years, I managed to bring back a gold medal. This is a historic event for me. It was my childhood dream: I became a world champion among boys, then among youth, and now among adults.

The work of the coaching staff was highlighted separately. Darkhan Dyusembekov, the head coach of the Karaganda region, has been leading the team for three years.

— The main task now is the Olympic Games. The second most important start is the Asian Games. For Ablaikhan, the goal of the World Championship has already been achieved, Sabyrzhan was a little unlucky — we planned to bring two gold medals to Karaganda. Our common goal is to bring back the glory of the Karaganda boxing school, so that we have champions at every World Championship and every Olympiad. There is support from the regional administration, the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, sports schools and boarding schools. Our task is to work, win and raise a new generation of champions," Darkhan Dyusembekov emphasized.

Sabyrzhan Akkalykov, the silver medalist of the World Championship, noted that he was also determined to win.

— In boxing, it happens like this: you perform well, but the judges give the victory to someone else. At the same time, we go to every start with the mindset of gold. Intensive training is ahead and the main goal is to win the Olympic Games," the athlete said.

The boxers have already started training camps in Shymkent. Participation in the Asian Games in Japan and the Asian Championship is ahead. The main start will be the 2028 Summer Olympic Games, where Karaganda boxers will defend the honor of not only the region, but the whole country.
