Karaganda students will learn cyber defense using world-class equipment

Students of Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov will now be able to study cybersecurity in a new modern laboratory. The Fortinet network security training platform has been opened at the Department of Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence.

The laboratory is equipped with professional Fortinet equipment. This company is considered one of the world leaders in the field of cyber defense. The main advantage is that each student has their own booth, so they will work in conditions as close as possible to real corporate tasks.

Already this semester, future specialists will begin to master practical disciplines: configuring firewalls, switches, and access points, protecting against cyber attacks, working with VPNs, IPS, SD-WAN, FortiGuard, traffic analysis, and designing secure network architectures.

The opening of the laboratory will significantly enhance practical training in the educational programs "Information Security Systems", "Network Security" and "Computing and Software". Students will be able to work with modern security tools, analyze real-world cyber threat scenarios and learn how to effectively counter them.
