Gold and three bronze medals of the World Sambo championship in the piggy bank of Karaganda athletes

The World Championship in sports and combat sambo among adults was held in Bishkek. About 650 athletes from 70 countries took part in the competition. Five of the strongest athletes from the Karaganda region competed in the national team of Kazakhstan, who showed a decent result: three bronze and one gold medal.

Madina Yerzhan, a native of the Koyandy village of Karkaraly district, won a bronze medal in sports sambo in the weight category up to 80 kg.

– The first match with a rival from the Netherlands turned out to be the most difficult. It was a very crucial moment, but I believed in myself and fought to the end. Then there were intense fights with representatives of Cuba and Belarus. In the bronze medal match, I met a SAMBO wrestler from Kyrgyzstan and won," the athlete shared.

Madina notes that participating in competitions gives not only experience, but also self-confidence.

– Each tournament is difficult and unique in its own way. But the most important thing is to gain experience from it. I hope that even higher victories are waiting for me ahead. My dream is to get to the World Championships again and win a gold medal," says the sambo wrestler.

The national team of Kazakhstan took the second place in the World Cup in the team competition.
