In the Karaganda region, artificial intelligence is used to identify defects on roads and deal with traffic jams. There is a startup developed for catering organizations.

The head of the region, Ermaganbet Bulekpayev, told a briefing at the Central Communications Service about where else digital solutions have been implemented.

– Our region, having a large base in IT, is showing success. The JoLScan project has been launched in pilot mode. It allows you to identify defects on highways using data from ambulance cameras. Together with Yandex, we have implemented smart traffic lights: drivers can receive information about signal switching in real time. The smart parking project combines video cameras and artificial intelligence, shows in real time free parking spaces in the desired location, – said the head of the region.

He gave an example of one of the startups that was able to attract investments in the amount of 200 thousand US dollars. An automatic service control system has been developed for cafes and restaurants, staff motivation and an increase in the average check.

According to the akim of the region, there is an annual increase in tax revenues from IT companies by 35%.
