Investment growth and support for SMEs: Ermaganbet Bulekpayev spoke about the development of the economy

The Karaganda region maintains steady economic growth: in 10 months, investments exceeded 932.9 billion tenge, industrial production reached 4 trillion tenge.

Akim of the region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev spoke about key tasks in the economy and business support at a briefing in the Central Communications Service.

– The region maintains stable positions: the first place in steel production, the second in coal mining and potato cultivation, the third in egg production, and the fourth in grain harvesting. The unemployment rate is one of the lowest in the country and amounts to 4%," the head of the region noted.

He stressed that the development of industry, support for SMEs and attracting investments remain priorities.

Industrial zones are actively developing in the region and small industrial sites are being created.

According to the akim of the region, Qarmet will allocate 1.6 trillion tenge to modernize production by 2028. The plant is switching to natural gas and implementing digital technologies.

New production facilities are being created in the region, and projects are being implemented in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and other industries. For example, it is planned to start production of Howo, Sitrak, and Shantui trucks and special equipment at the Saran industrial zone next year.

– Small and medium-sized businesses focus on creating growth points and supporting entrepreneurship. Our region was one of the first to reduce the retail tax rate to 2%. And today we see the result – the number of taxpayers has increased 30 times and amounted to more than four thousand, and the amount of tax revenues to the budget under the special tax regime since the beginning of this year has reached 5.6 billion tenge. With the introduction of the new Tax Code, we will recommend that our maslikhats maintain the current rate of 2%," Ermaganbet Bulekpayev said.
