A visiting seminar-meeting was held in the Karaganda region with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission K.V. Petrov and CEC member S.S. Mustafina on the preparation and conduct of early elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On November 16 this year, in the city of Karaganda, Deputy Chairman of the CEC Petrov K.V. and CEC member Mustafina S.S. held a seminar-meeting on the readiness of the region for the early elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for November 20 this year.
The event was attended by members of election commissions, representatives of political parties, election headquarters of candidates, mass media covering the elections, proxies of candidates, electoral coaches, representatives of interested state bodies. A total of 328 people took part in the meeting.
K.V. Petrov familiarized with the peculiarities of the preparation and conduct of the early presidential elections of the Republic of Kazakhstan, focusing on the variety of forms of assistance to citizens for inclusion in the voter lists and ensuring the accessibility and convenience of voting facilities for persons with disabilities.
The head of the akim’s region office, D.Z. Eshkeev, reported on the work done by the local executive bodies of the region on voter lists, organizational, logistical support of the elections. Thus, 642 polling stations are involved in the region, voter lists were transferred to election commissions in a timely manner.
The first Deputy prosecutor of the region, V.N. Shaber, spoke about the supervision of the observance of the legality by participants in the electoral process of electoral legislation. The speaker explained the norms of legislation defining both administrative and criminal liability, also noted the most frequent violations by participants in the electoral process.
The first deputy head of the regional Police Department Ismagulov K.Zh. reported on ensuring law and order in the region at polling stations on the day of voting and the measures taken for round-the-clock protection of these facilities.
In the second part of the program, a training was conducted in the form of a business game for the election commission. As part of the training, the voting day was modeled, the practical skills of election commission members were tested. Konstantin Viktorovich and Sabila Saparovna actively joined the game process, commented on the actions of the commission members.
Following the results of the meeting, K.V. Petrov and S.S. Mustafina gave a number of specific instructions to the chairmen of territorial and precinct commissions.
