Coverage of settlements with a population of more than 100 people with regular bus routes
210 regular bus routes are organized in the region. The routes cover 154 rural localities out of 338, with a population of over 100 people or 46% (a total of 419 rural localities).
Passenger transport was one of the most affected areas as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Due to the introduction of travel restrictions and quarantine, the number of passengers carried last year decreased by 64%, passenger traffic decreased by 70% .
Due to a sharp decline in passenger traffic and increased losses of carriers, 24 inter-district routes have been closed since the beginning of the pandemic. As a result, 56 villages were left without passenger service.
One of the priority tasks in the sphere is the gradual resumption of the operation of these inter-district routes by the end of this year.
Work on improving the passenger transport sector to improve the standard of living in rural areas is under control and is being carried out on an ongoing basis.
