Folk festivals took place on the square in front of the recreation center-a theatrical performance, a festive concert. Residents were treated to pilaf, baursaks, nauryz kozhe. Abay residents competed in tug of war, lifting weights, arm wrestling, and received prizes from the festive lottery.
