Patients with coronavirus infection will be able to take part in the upcoming elections to the Mazhilis of the Parliament and maslikhats. A special voting procedure was determined for them.
The algorithm was explained by the chief sanitary doctor of the Karaganda region - Deputy head of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Yuri Zalygin.
- Voters who are prescribed a self-isolation regime in connection with home treatment or who are quarantined in connection with CVI are required to notify the election commission. A member of the election commission, accepting an application for voting at home, must clarify the existence of a self-isolation regime and explain compliance with sanitary safety measures, - said Yuri Zalygin at a meeting in the regional akimat.
Members of the electoral commission will be provided with personal protective equipment to visit the sick: disposable bathrobes, masks and gloves, antiseptic.
Members of the election commission will not enter the apartment or house. Voting will take place in a contactless way: the application and ballots will be passed inside the dwelling and will be returned. After that, the ballots will be dropped into a portable ballot box.
Members of the commission must necessarily disinfect their hands and the surface of the urn. Masks and gloves worn by members of the electoral commission are subject to further disposal. To do this, they must be immediately removed and put in a resealable container.
Yuri Zalygin also told how voting will be organized in hospitals for the treatment of patients with COVID-19.
Members of election commissions who have arrived at the hospital should be dressed in an anti-plague suit and provided with protective equipment. They will not contact the patients. In the" red zone " applications and ballots will be entered by medical workers. After the voting is completed, the ballot box is decontaminated with disinfectant and ultraviolet light.
