The Cascade substation has been put into operation in Almaty

PS 110/35/35/10 No. 5A. The contractor of the project was Electrokabel LLP. A closed-type substation.

The project is aimed at improving the energy security of the city and the reliability of the city's energy system, including solving the electricity shortage in the city of Almaty.

The 110/35/10kV high voltage substation No. 5A "Cascade" is designed for receiving and distributing electrical energy, and also provides the necessary capacity and reliability of the external power supply of the city. The station uses modern technologies.

The substation is powered from substation PSNo.160A "Ermensai" via cable line KL-110kV No. 189A, 190A.

Two transformers T-1 and T-2 with a capacity of 40,000 kVA of the TDTN-40000/110U1 type manufactured in Kazakhstan are installed at the substation. The manufacturer is "Alageum Electric".

Also at the station, complete switchgears with a capacity of 110 kV KRUE-110 kV 1.2 s type ZF10-145 are used. The manufacturer is the leading Chinese company "Shandong Taikai Electric Group Co.,Ltd".

Also such equipment as complete switchgear KRU -10kV 1 and 2 sections. Type mica pressed capacitor CSR-2-10 switches BB-AE-12 and KRU-35kV 1 and 2 sections, type of switch BB-AE-40,5-1250-31 ,5U3. manufactured in Kazakhstan. The manufacturer is Almaty Electromechanical Plant LLP.
