A meeting was held with the heads of the leading domestic media on compliance with electoral legislation

On December 7, 2020, an online meeting was held between the Vice Minister of Information and Social Development Kemelbek Oyshybayev with the heads of leading domestic media outlets.

During the meeting, issues of observance of election legislation by the media were discussed.

During the meeting, the authorized body explained a number of norms of electoral legislation, often violated by the media, and noted the responsibility assigned to them in the electoral period.

During the conversation, it was also noted about the requirements and terms of placing information in the media on the terms of payment for campaign materials.

At the same time, the statistics of already existing violations of electoral legislation, as well as measures taken by prosecutors and other law enforcement agencies, were announced.

The leadership of the Ministry called on to ensure compliance with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and to jointly promote the holding of open and fair elections in the country.
