Representatives of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office took part in a meeting on housing for former servicemen

The meeting, organized at the site of the Ministry of Defense, was attended by deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament, representatives of the Ministries of Finance, Justice, the Supreme Court, the Main Military Prosecutor's Office, the republican public association "Union of Veterans of the Armed Forces" and military pensioners.
The main issue put up for discussion is the receipt of one-time housing payments by military pensioners, with a length of service of 10 or more years, but less than 20 years in calendar terms, living in dwellings that are not subject to privatization.
Today, this right is used only by military personnel with more than 20 years of service.
The above category of military pensioners has the right to exchange occupied apartments for other housing from the fund of the Ministry of Defense, subject to privatization.
More than 370 military pensioners took advantage of this opportunity.
But not everyone agrees to the exchange and initiates receiving cash payments in return for housing.
The representative of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Kozha-Akhmet E.K., explained the norms of housing legislation on the absence of a norm granting such a right, and gave answers to the questions raised.
Following the meeting, it was decided to submit amendments to the legislation for approval by all interested state bodies.
