At the meeting of the coordinating Council of the main transport Prosecutor's office, the issues of accessibility and quality of transport services for citizens with disabilities, prevention and counteraction to the theft of goods from rolling stock were considered.
The meeting was attended by members of the coordinating Council, heads of the ministries of industry and infrastructure development, health and social development, representatives of the Kazakhstan Confederation of disabled people and others.
The main transport Prosecutor Sabankulov E. M. mentioned the necessity of creating a barrier-free environment for people with disabilities.
However, the analysis shows that every third railway station (153 out of 407) does not respect the rights of the disabled.
Only 4 airports (Almaty, Nursultan, Aktau and Karaganda) that land on Board the ambilift plane, and mobile lifts for wheelchair users are located at 2 stations (Astana-1 resort and Borovoe).
Preventing theft of rolling stock cargo is an important and relevant issue. Each theft causes damage to the owners of goods, and an unsolved crime causes a sense of impunity in the criminal elements.
The main objects of theft are inventory items, fuels and lubricants, ferroalloys, coal, etc.
It should be noted that more than half of the persons brought to criminal responsibility are employees of railway and security companies.
As a result of the meeting, the members of the coordination Council developed a number of recommendations to bring transport facilities in line with the requirements of the law, as well as to enhance the measures taken to prevent and detect theft from rolling stock.
