The Prosecutor's office of Zhambyl region analyzed the state of legality in the sphere of ensuring safety during passenger transportation.

In recent years, accidents involving passenger transport have increased on the roads of Zhambyl region (2018-27, 2019-37), including fatal accidents (2018 – 12 people were killed, 54 people were injured; 2019 – 18 people were killed, 109 people were injured).

This was facilitated by a systematic violation, which resulted in the issuance of permits for outdated buses, unqualified drivers, in some cases between carriers without proper permission, passing medical and technical examinations, as well as in the termination of a standard contract.

Thus, 29 (or 40%) of the 76 routes in the region do not meet the requirements and regulations.

In particular, the service life of 105 vehicles for the right to service regular passenger transport has expired (more than 15 years).

Sayakhat-99 LLP carried out transportation without medical and technical inspection along the route "Taraz – Ushkonyr bus Station".

At the same time, this carrier allowed passengers to Board from the Sairan bus station (Almaty) in violation of the route and traffic scheme established by the regional akimat.

In addition, as part of the implementation of the state program" Nurly Zhol", the regional akimat held a tender for regular routes of 7 localities ("Karatau – Kaskabulak – Taraz"," Maitobe – Taraz"," Kotov – Taraz"," Oyyk – Taraz"," Amangeldy – Taraz"," Akkum – Taraz"," Karatau – Tamdy-Taraz") with a population of more than 100 people.

Based on the results of consideration of the Prosecutor's office's submission, the akimat of Zhambyl region terminated contracts with 14 carriers on 40 regular routes, and measures are being taken to eliminate the causes and conditions that contribute to the violation of the law.
