Last year, with the coordination of the transport Prosecutor's Office, the amount of confiscated property exceeded 7.4 billion tenge.

For example, at the end of 2020, a verdict was passed against citizens who, under the auspices of a number of senior officials of the Mangystau region, as part of an organized criminal group in the seaport of Aktau, engaged in economic smuggling (TNP, tires, perfumes, cigarettes and hookah tobacco, the amount of illegally imported goods amounted to 2.3 billion tenge) and evasion of customs duties (a total of 12 persons).

The criminal case was investigated by the special prosecutors of the Traffic Police, and the guilty persons were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment.

In general, currently taken measures, the state budget actually received more than 900 million tenge from the sale of confiscated goods at auction.

The next goal of the work is to prevent crime by turning the means of committing illegal actions into the state's income.

As an example, we can cite the facts of the confiscation of 10 vehicles of criminals, recognized by the court as the instrument of committing a crime.

It should be noted that sometimes criminals take risks and lose a car, the cost of which exceeds the possible income from criminal activities.

A resident of the Aktobe region, convicted by the court for transporting stolen petroleum products and other property totaling more than 400 thousand tenge. For this, the court not only convicted him, but also lost a car worth more than 5 million tenge, which the court, recognizing the instrument of the crime, confiscated to the state revenue.

In another case, a convicted resident of the Almaty region also lost a truck of the "MAN" brand with a "SCHMITZ" trailer, due to the fact that he was transporting diesel obtained by criminal means.

An important role is also assigned to the work on establishing the proceeds of crime.

As a rule, criminals use money obtained by criminal means to purchase houses, apartments and cars, and to divert them from the attention of the regulatory authorities, they register them on their close relatives and acquaintances.

So, a group of individuals for several years engaged in embezzlement of budget funds on a particularly large scale, with the same money they purchased luxury real estate and expensive cars.

The investigation was able to prove that the luxurious life of the suspects began at the expense of the property acquired by criminal means.

Since the suspects during the period of the theft did not have any other income than their wages, and the people on whom the property was registered could not explain their origin.

As a result, the court recognized the property acquired by criminal means in the form of 5 luxury cars, 6 luxury apartments and 3 land plots located in Nur-Sultan, with a total value of more than 380 million tenge, due to which part of the damage to the injured party (quasi-state company) was repaid.
