What is the main goal of privatization?
|
The main goal of the ongoing privatization is to provide new impetus to the country's economic growth and the further development of private business by transferring state assets to more efficient owners, thereby reducing the state's role in the economy. Global experience shows that the state's dominant role in the economy is a restraining factor for investment growth and economic efficiency.
Through privatization, the state withdraws from sectors of the economy where a competitive environment could be created, thereby strengthening and activating the private sector by developing a competitive environment and export potential. The role of the state and monopolies, as well as direct financial support (current budget expenditures), will be reduced. This will create a level playing field for all businesses, which should contribute to increased productivity and service quality for the end consumer.

Are there any guarantees of receiving dividends on shares? Will we lose money by purchasing these shares?
|
Income from shares can be received both in the form of dividends, while remaining a shareholder, and in the form of share price appreciation upon sale.
For example, following last year's IPO of KazMunayGas shares, the price per common share was 8,406 tenge. Currently, KazMunayGas shares are listed on the stock exchange at 11,810 tenge, representing a price increase of 40.5%.
However, it should be remembered that dividends may not be paid annually depending on the company's performance (e.g., depending on the company's performance or the decision of a shareholder meeting to pay dividends).
Furthermore, share prices may decline under adverse factors during economic difficulties; dividend yields and other financial and operational indicators of companies may exhibit negative dynamics.
In general, investing in shares, like other market instruments, is associated with certain risks that may negatively impact investment returns.
Therefore, investments in shares should be made taking these risks into account, planning for long-term returns.
