Himalayan snowcock

There are two types of strikes in the country. Altai and Himalayan snowcock.

They live in groups, in one group of 10-15 individuals. The impact weight is 2.7-3.4 kg. The female differs from the male in smaller sizes.

During the autumn accounting of 2022, 11 strikes were counted on the territory of the Almaty National Park. When extrapolating, the number of this species in the reserve was estimated at 477 individuals.

They live in the neighborhood together with Siberian mountain goats. A very careful bird, if it senses any danger, will give a whistling signal. With this whistle he protects himself and mountain goats from danger.
