Six-day national training seminar on sustainable development of fish farming in the Republic of Kazakhstan started in Almaty region with the support of FAO
One of the main directions of the Fisheries Development Program for 2021-2030 is the organization of fish farming training in order to provide fish farming enterprises and farms with qualified personnel, as well as attracting investments.
Within the framework of international cooperation and involvement of international organizations in the development of aquaculture in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) signed a project document "Capacity building for sustainable management of fisheries and aquaculture in Central Asia (FISHCap).

In accordance with this project, on the initiative of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey and FAO, as well as in partnership with the Balyk Mektep fish breeding school, a national training seminar on sustainable development of fish farming was organized in the Enbekshikazakh district of Almaty region from March 13 to 18, 2023.

The target audience of this seminar are representatives of the business community, novice fish farmers and potential investors from the private sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The organizers of the seminar provide participants with financial support, including travel, meals and accommodation.

The theoretical and practical knowledge gained during the national seminar contributes to the opening of new fish farms in the country and, in general, will be aimed at the development of aquaculture.
