FOUR CITIZENS WHO ILLEGALLY FISHED WERE DETAINED ON LAKE ZAISAN

On 02/28/2023, the Zaisan-Yertis inter-regional Basin Fisheries Inspectorate detained 4 residents of the Tarbagatai district on the southern side of Lake Zhaysan who carried out illegal fishing using prohibited fishing gear (monofilament and monofilament nets) in the amount of 2 pcs. during the raid activities together with employees of the Kokpektinsky ROP, on the southern side of Lake Zhaysan.

    The total weight of illegally caught fish was 226.2 kg. Of these, pike perch-81.4 kg., bream-130 kg., pike-14.8 kg.
As a result of illegal activities, the amount of damage caused amounted to 916285.5 tenge. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 335 Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

    It should be noted that according to Article 335 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, illegal extraction of fish resources and other aquatic animals is punishable by a fine of up to three thousand monthly calculation indices, or community service for up to eight hundred hours, or restriction of liberty for up to three years, or imprisonment for the same period, with confiscation property, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to five years.
