ISSUES OF FISHERIES DEVELOPMENT WERE DISCUSSED WITH SENATE DEPUTIES

On December 20, 2022, at a meeting with deputies of the Senate Committee on agrarian issues, nature management and Rural Development, Vice-Minister of Ecology, geology and natural resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shalabekova Aliya Lazarovna spoke about the current state of Fisheries, measures of state support and the work done.

After expanding state support measures and creating favorable conditions for the development of Fisheries, entrepreneurs ' interest in fish farming is growing every year. Currently, compared to 2020, the number of fish farms has increased by 2 times and reached 380. The volume of fish grown over the past 5 years has increased from 3 thousand tons to 15 thousand tons per year, the vice minister said.

"It should be noted that in recent years, thanks to state support for Fisheries, the number of subjects engaged in fisheries has increased and the volume of fish farming has also increased. But today's heated and open discussion reveals that there are a number of unresolved issues in this area. I am sure that we will make every effort to fulfill the tasks assigned to US," Senator Ali Bektayev said.

Following the meeting, the Ministry will take appropriate measures to implement the recommendations of the Senate deputies on the development of Fisheries.
