On March 22, 2022, by decision No. 43, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to set the rate of import customs duty of the Unified Customs Tariff of the Eurasian Economic Union, approved by the Decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission No. 80 of September 14, 2021, in respect of certain types of fertilized fish eggs classified by the code 0511 91 901 9 of the Customs Code of the EAEU, in the amount of 0 percent of the customs value from the date of entry into force of this Decision to December 31, 2024 inclusive.

It should be noted that in order to support domestic fish farmers, the Kazakh side sent a proposal to the Eurasian Economic Commission to establish an import customs duty rate of 0 percent, which was supported by all the member countries of the EEC.

Also, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has reduced the rate of import customs duty on certain types of fish feed classified by code 2309 90 100 0 from 5% to 3%. This measure will be in effect until December 31, 2022 inclusive.
The establishment of zero rates for certain types of fertilized fish eggs (trout and salmon) and the reduction of the rate for certain types of fish feed to 3% are aimed at supporting and further development of farms engaged in the cultivation of salmon and trout fish, as well as in order to create favorable conditions for the development of domestic aquaculture.
