In the lake Almagambet of Atyrau region, work is underway to save fish
In Lake Almagambet near the village of Alga Makhambet district of Atyrau region, due to the large arrival of water, work is underway to save fish.
The juveniles caught out of the riverbed and the adult fish going to spawn were stuck among the tough vegetation in the lake. Also, due to warming, the oxygen content in the water decreased, which created a threat to the fry.
"A group of representatives of local executive bodies, villagers and volunteers is conducting rescue work. On the night of April 28-29, due to the strong current, fry accumulated among the thickets, there are facts of fish death. The collected fish will be disposed of in accordance with sanitary requirements. The lake itself is deep, there are no facts of fish death recorded here. The Almagambet reservoir is located on the territory related to forestry. For uprooting and destruction of vegetation, excavation requires a special permit,"– said the head of the Zhaiyk-Caspian interregional basin inspection of fisheries Nurlybek Gaisin.
Along with this, the head of the Department of Fisheries of Atyrau region Artur Sadibekuly said that the akimat of the region has developed a special plan to prevent the death of fish, work will be carried out with the city and district akimats, according to the algorithm.
According to the akim of the village of Alga Rasul Musin, duty is carried out on the reservoir all week.
"Before the arrival of the water, work was carried out to clean the lake with the participation of the village youth, volunteers, inspection staff. For example, fallen trees were removed, the riverbed was cleared of solid waste and garbage. The water began to arrive on April 24. Since then, the work has been carried out in shifts, the water level is kept under control, fish are released to deeper places. However, due to the rapid rise of the water level, the fish simply got stuck in dense thickets, unable to pass. At the same time, we cannot set up networks for prevention, it is not in our competence," Artur Sadibekuly said.
