What you need to know about fish spawning ❓

🔸 Everyone knows that in the spring period in the Republic of Kazakhstan bans on fishing during the spawning period are introduced. Citizens engaged in fishing during the prohibited spawning period will have to pay a significant fine.

So what is spawning

In our country, almost all fish living in freshwater reservoirs reproduce by laying eggs. During this period, the females begin to release caviar from the anal opening, which is immediately watered with the males' milk. i.e., fertilization of the eggs occurs.

The number of eggs is different and may vary depending on the type of fish. For example, a carp lays about 1.5 million eggs, and a female catfish lays eggs in a small amount – only 500 eggs.

Before spawning, the fish strays into flocks, which begin to slowly move into the upper reaches of reservoirs. Here, the spawning places of fish can be different. Some fish prefer to lay eggs in previously chosen places, while others try to run aground, where they lay eggs.

I must say that only mature fish can lay eggs. During spawning, the water temperature plays an important role. It should be optimal for spawning, because both the fish itself and the eggs are very sensitive to its changes. Moreover, if the temperature of the water or its composition does not suit the fish, then it will never spawn in such a reservoir. Although, some species of predatory fish can perfectly spawn in cold water.

🔹 In this case, when does the fish go to spawn?

As a rule, this period begins in mid-spring and lasts until the beginning of summer. However, before going to spawn, the fish is "attacked" by a strong zhor, so if the fisherman got exactly for such a period, then he can be sure that the catch will be really rich. During the zhora, the fish eat literally everything in a row, without neglecting the nozzles of different plans. However, it is best to use animal baits during this period, i.e. worms, maggots, etc.

As for the sexual maturity of fish, i.e. their ability to spawn, their age is completely different. However, most freshwater fish species can begin to spawn after 3 years. Although, there are also such types of fish that can begin to spawn already the next year after their birth.
