S. Brekeshev: to create new fish farms and attract private investment

Minister of Ecology Serikkali Brekeshev took part in the work of the Board of the Fisheries Committee. The Board heard the report of the Chairman of the Committee Nariman Zhunusov for 2021, as well as the heads of basin inspections and subordinate organizations. The Minister gave a positive assessment of the work of the Committee. The head of the department also noted that the fishing industry is one of the main activities of the state.

Recall that the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on September 22, 2021, during a working trip to the Mangystau region, instructed to create favorable conditions for the cultivation and processing of fish. The Minister instructed the Committee to continue working in this direction.

"Through joint efforts, we must continue to improve legislation and expand state support measures, ensure the growth of commercial fish and exports, create new fish farms and attract private investment. To do this, it is necessary to actively attract potential investors with an explanation of the norms of legislation, existing measures of state support, prospects for fish farming."- said the Minister of Ecology Serikkali Brekeshev.

In addition, the Minister instructed to continue work on the suppression of illegal trafficking of fish and fish products, prohibited fishing gear, the consolidation of fishery reservoirs, as well as to strengthen the fight against poaching.
