On the detention of violators who produced illegally obtained fish

On February 3, 2022, employees of the Aral-Syrdarya inter-regional basin inspection of fisheries, together with employees of the Shardara police department and the huntsman service, during raid events at the Shardara reservoir, detained three citizens who produced fish resources using prohibited fishing gear.

According to the results of the inspection, 1000 m of nets made of synthetic monofilaments, 2 rubber boats, as well as partial fish species with a total weight of 566 kg were seized from these violators.

Materials and material evidence were transferred to the Shardara police department for the initiation of a criminal case.

It should be noted that according to Article 335 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, illegal extraction of fish resources and other aquatic animals is punishable by a fine of up to three thousand monthly calculation indices, or community service for up to eight hundred hours, or restriction of liberty for up to three years, or imprisonment for the same period, with confiscation of property, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to five years.
