Joint projects in the field of audit were discussed by specialists of the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Asian Development Bank

Specialists of the Supreme Audit Chamber of Kazakhstan discussed with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) the current directions of joint work in the current and next years.

The participants of the meeting discussed in detail the conduction of an independent assessment mission regarding the country program for the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2012-2024. The main goal is to determine the effectiveness of the support provided to our country by the ADB. The results obtained will be used to improve future cooperation programs.

At the same time, the progress of the implementation of other joint projects of the SAC and ADB was reviewed, as well as the results of the interaction within the framework of the Knowledge and Experience Exchange Program between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the ADB for the period since 2016 were summed up.

Rustem Nurpeissov, a Member of the Supreme Audit Chamber, thanked the representatives of the Asian Development Bank for their technical and expert support.

«We consistently implement projects aimed at maximizing the potential of the SAC. First of all, we are focused on improving the professional level of employees in the field of public audit and the application of advanced audit techniques, as well as in expert and analytical activities», he said.

Rustem Nurpeissov also informed colleagues from the ADB about the progress of reforming the state audit system in Kazakhstan, which is part of the large-scale socio-political and economic transformations carried out at the initiative of the Head of the State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

A strong and independent state audit is important for the efficient and responsible use of public resources.

Following the meeting, the participants confirmed their readiness to continue productive cooperation in all relevant areas.

For reference: In recent years, with the support of ADB, about 400 employees of the Supreme Audit Chamber, regional audit commissions and the Internal State Audit Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan have been trained and improved their qualifications in various programs in the field of state audit and finance.

Along with this, a number of studies have been conducted and practical recommendations have been developed on topical areas for improving the external state audit system. In particular, a study on the topic «Studying the practice of electronic auditing by the supreme audit institutions» is currently being conducted, which is scheduled to be completed by February 2025.
