20 employees of the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan (SAC) will receive international professional qualifications as part of the ongoing work to improve the effectiveness of public audit.
The training of SAC auditors on International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) will be held from April 29 to May 4 this year in Astana. It is organized within the framework of the joint program of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Asian Development Bank for the Knowledge and Experience Exchange Program.
Upon completion of the training, the Supreme Audit Chamber will have a sufficient number of certified auditors in the specified area. In addition, appropriate changes will be made to the approaches and processes of conducting state audit. It is expected that this will significantly strengthen the control of the SAC over public sector institutions.
We would like to remind that in June 2023, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed amendments to legislation expanding the powers of the Supreme Audit Chamber. In particular, the SAC received the right to audit local budget funds, as well as to review the audit results of all state audit and financial control institutions in the republic.
Work on improving the human resources potential of the SAC will continue.
