An official delegation from the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan, led by the Chairman Vugar Gulmammadov, arrived to Astana to participate in joint activities with representatives of the Supreme Audit Chamber of Kazakhstan.
The working visit is organized and is taking place as part of the implementation of the Action Plan for strengthening cooperation between the two agencies for the years 2024-2026.
First of all, there was a seminar where state auditors from Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan exchanged experiences and practical developments.
The discussion centered on: methodological approaches to conducting performance audit in the field of ecology, preparation of reports on budget performance, and auditing consolidated financial statements.
The Chairman of the Supreme Audit Chamber Alikhan Smailov emphasized that the supreme audit institutions of the two states have significant potential for cooperation development.
He noted that for the Supreme Audit Chamber, exchanging experience and knowledge with Azerbaijani colleagues is particularly important, as the system of state audit continues to be reformed in the republic.
One of the key areas of this work includes digitalization, the implementation of advanced IT solutions, the use of artificial intelligence, and big data.
"We highly appreciate the long-standing friendship with the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan. We hope that our joint efforts will continue to contribute to the development of public governance systems in our countries," said the Chairman of the SAC.
On his part, Vugar Gulmammadov noted that the relations between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have a long history.
According to him, our countries have similar principles and methods of state financial control, as well as a similar structure of control bodies.
"This is a good prerequisite for the exchange of experience and best practices, which certainly contributes to the improvement of our national systems," added Vugar Gulmammadov.
On September 11, a meeting will take place with the participation of state auditors from both countries, during which the results of the parallel event in the field of ecology will be summarized.
Its goal is to strengthen the partnership between the supreme audit institutions of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, as well as to improve the quality of environmental auditing in both countries.
The theme of the event is the preservation of biological diversity.
