The tariff was increased for 34, 9 remained at the same level, and for one was reduced out of 44 energy-producing organizations in Kazakhstan. The revision of the marginal tariffs for electric energy will save about 27 thousand jobs, Director of the Department of electric power development of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidos Daribayev said at a briefing in the Central Communications Service today, June 30.
As Daribayev noted in his speech, in 2020 the expenses of energy-producing organizations increased for reasons beyond their control (the cost of purchasing fuel, the volume of purchasing RES, payments to the budget and system operator services). Meanwhile, the level of station wear increases from year to year and is currently about 60%. In this connection, the quality of electricity supply is put at risk.
This situation forces Kazakh consumers to purchase services for regulating electric capacity from neighboring countries in the amount of more than 8 billion tenge per year, which also affects the final price of electric energy. In this regard, energy-producing organizations in Kazakhstan in April submitted applications for adjusting the margina tariffs into groups. When considering them, the Ministry applied an individual approach to each case.
The Ministry is responsible for approving the marginal tariffs to product electric energy by energy-producing organizations for a seven-year period, with the right to apply for adjustments when costs increase. The Ministry of national economy is engaged in adjusting the marginal tariffs for the population, - said the Director of the Department of development of electric power industry. According to forecasts, if the EPO marginal tariffs change, the average receipt for payment of electric energy for end users of statistical average apartments may increase no earlier than the fourth quarter by no more than 200 tenge per month to current accounts.
Aidos Daribayev noted that the cost of electricity does not cover the necessary costs, at the moment energy-producing organizations are diverting money intended for modernization to cover current losses. Fot today EPO owe coal companies more than 3 billion tenge, although previously this figure did not exceed 200 million tenge annually. There is also a debt to gas companies in the amount of 6 billion tenge.
Timely adjustment of marginal tariffs for electric power stations will allow to start work on their modernization, for repair companies to successfully pass the upcoming autumn-winter period and reduce accidents, starting from this year.
Besides, the revision of marginal tariffs for electric energy will save about 27 thousand jobs of 44 energy-producing organizations. These are the people on whose work the uninterrupted supply of the country with electric energy depends, " Aidos Daribayev stressed.
