The signing of a Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the Ministry of energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Asian development Bank (ADB) creates a basis for mutually beneficial and comprehensive cooperation, as well as for improving interaction in the implementation of joint projects, including the further development of the sectors of renewable energy, electricity and heat supply, gas supply and petrochemicals.
Currently, ADB is already financing projects in partnership with Kazakhstan, as well as providing technical assistance to the Ministry of energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Bank was established in 1966 and its shareholders are 68 countries, 49 of which are located in the region. Kazakhstan became a member of the ADB in 1994. 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan's cooperation with the ADB.
