A ban on import of light oil products is introducing in Kazakhstan

The need to adopt this regulatory legal act is aimed to ensure a comfortable balance of consumption between the volumes of domestic refineries and imported petroleum products, as well as  to exclude facts of Kazakhstani refineries' refining decrease, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

The Ministry of Energy of RoK adopted an order dated 12/08/20202. No. 431 "On some issues of supply of petroleum products to the Republic of Kazakhstan", which provides introduction of a ban until April 1, 2021 on import of diesel fuel into the Republic of Kazakhstan by rail, road and pipeline transport (HS codes 2710 19 421 0, 2710 19 424 0 and 2710 19 425 0), except for winter diesel fuel and arctic diesel fuel (HS code 2710 19 422 0, 2710 19 423 0).
