Nurlan Nogayev: Increasing the share of local content is a priority task of the Ministry

Energy Minister Nurlan Nogayev and head of Kyzylorda region Gulshara Abdykalikova got acquainted with the activities of "JV Kazgermunai" LLP located in the regional center, including with the work of "Intellectual Field" project.

The direction of activity of this institution, which began its activity in 1993, is oil and gas production. On the balance sheet of "JV Kazgermunai" LLP there are 5 separate oil and gas fields, in particular, Central Akshabulak, East Akshabulak, South Akshabulak, Nuraly and Aksai, which provide jobs for 746 people.

The volume of oil production in 2019 amounted to 2.2 million tons.

Within the framework of the approved roadmap for digitalization of fuel and energy complex of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, last year "JV Kazgermunai" LLP introduced the "Intellectual Field" digital technology.

The introduction of this technology contributes to an increase in oil production up to 1-2%, a monthly calculation index up to 700 days, a reduction in operating costs up to 10% and an increase in the efficiency of management decisions up to 20%.

The delegation also visited "PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources" JSC. This enterprise began its work in 1986. "PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources" JSC is an oil production company that develops oil fields from exploration blocks in the South Turgai basin: Kumkol (southeastern part), South Kumkol, East Kumkol, North Nuraly, Aryskum, Kyzylkiya, North-West Kyzyl , South-West Karabulak.

Oil production volume in 2019 amounted to 933 thousand tons of oil.

During the meeting with oil industry workers, Energy Minister Nurlan Nogayev noted the importance of increasing the share of local content in ongoing projects.

- The Head of the State has repeatedly focused on the need to increase the share of local content in oil and gas industry. The Ministry is working in this direction, together with Chevron a fund for the development of local content is being created, together with three large operators the International Center for the Development of Oil and Gas Engineering is opening. This is one of the priority tasks facing the Ministry. But at the same time, it should be noted that businesses should also make efforts to increase the share of local content. Only working in tandem, we will achieve success in this direction, - said Nurlan Nogayev.
