Results of the auction for the selection of SES projects on November 10, 2020 with a total installed capacity of 15 MW

The 30th renewable energy auction in Kazakhstan took place. The auction was declared valid.

5 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, during the trading session the participants submitted 49 price proposals, the unit capacity of the projects ranged from 1.2 to 10 MW.

The total volume of applications submitted was 36.15 MW. The maximum auction price during the auction for the selection of SES projects in 2020 was 16.97 tenge / kWh (excluding VAT).

During the trading session, the price range of bids received from auction participants ranged from 16.9 to 14.99 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT).

Following the results of the auction, the following companies were identified as winners:

- "UBS QZ" LLP (Kazakhstan), the installed capacity of the project is 10 MW, the auction price is 14.99 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT). The project is planned to be located near the Keles district of the Turkestan region;

- "UBS Solar" LLP (Kazakhstan), the installed capacity of the project is 10 MW, the auction price is 15.62 tenge/kW*h (excluding VAT). The project is planned to be located near the Keles district of the Turkestan region.

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ALE "KazEnergy", ALE "KEA" took part in the auction as observers. The observers noted that the auction was hold in accordance with the approved normative legal acts and confirmed the transparency of electronic trading system of JSC "KOREM".

The next auction is scheduled for 11.11.2020 for RES 15 MW.

According to the Schedule of Auction Bidding, approved by order of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 202 dated May 21, 2020, it is planned to conduct auction bidding in the amount of 250 MW of installed capacity for 2020, broken down by power plant types:

- solar power plants - 55 MW (2 projects of which with documentation, the installed capacity of each project is 20 MW);

- wind power plants - 65 MW;

- hydroelectric power plants - 120 MW;

- BioPP - 10 MW.
