Kazakhstan plans to extend the ban on diesel fuel import

Energy Minister Nurlan Nogayev paid a working visit to Pavlodar region. Together with the head of the region Abylkair Skakov, they visited two thermal power plants, Pavlodar petrochemical plant and Neftekhim LTD LLP.

At TPP-1, which is part of "the Aluminum of Kazakhstan" JSC, the delegation was told about the city's electricity and heat supply. Today, the company, which has more than 50 years of history, tries to create the most comfortable conditions for its employees, which allows interest and attract young people.

Nurlan Nogayev and Abylkair Skakov were informed about the modernization of the main equipment at TPP-3, which is a division of "Pavlodarenergo" JSC.

On the basis of "Neftekhim LTD" LLP, the Minister of energy and the head of Pavlodar region visited the production shops of methyltretbutyl and polypropylene. This year, the plant plans to increase the volume of polypropylene production up to 40 thousand tons. Last year and the year before, this figure was about 33 thousand tons.

The next point of the visit was Pavlodar petrochemical plant.  The plant is engaged in the production of automobile gasoline, fuel for jet engines of TS-1 brand, diesel fuel, boiler fuel (fuel oil), petroleum coke, road bitumen, etc.

During the visit, answering journalists' questions, Nurlan Nogayev told about the plans of the Ministry of energy.

We plan to extend the ban on diesel imports until April next year, except winter and arctic fuel. I want to note that the final decision on this issue has not been made yet, but there are prerequisites for overstocking the domestic market with diesel fuel, - Nurlan Nogayev said. In General, I want to note that thanks to the leadership of the country and the government, during the pandemic state bodies took measures to avoid overstocking of storage facilities. Thanks to this, we avoided the shutdown of our plants and were able to maintain a balance in the domestic fuel market.
