The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted the decree of the Minister of energy of Kazakhstan dated October 9, 2020, № 352 "On some issues of supply of petroleum products to the Republic of Kazakhstan" (hereinafter - the Order), that provides a ban for up to November1, 2020 to import into the Republic of Kazakhstan by rail, road and pipeline transport of gasoline, jet and diesel fuel, the press service of ME RK reports.
To date, a level of oil product reserves in the domestic market is at a fairly high level, and the receipt of additional volumes of imported fuel may negatively affect the domestic oil refining, namely, it may lead to:
- reduce the volume of oil products shipment from Kazakhstan refineries;
- overstocking of factory tank farms, as well as storage bases of all oil depots in the country;
- as a result, to forced reduction in oil refining, which will lead to production decrease of other valuable types of petroleum products, such as diesel and aviation fuel.
Approval of the Order will ensure a comfortable balance between the volumes of produced and consumed petroleum products.
