The average size of the ASA amounted to 105 thousand tenge – Berdibek Saparbayev

On Monday, June 24, during the reporting meeting with the population, the head of the Ministry of Labor Berdibek Saparbayev spoke about the implementation of the order of the First President of RK on rendering targeted social assistance to large and low-income families.

"Since April 1, 2019 on behalf of the Elbasy, the conditions for the rendering ASA have been changed, including an increase in the criterion for the appointment of assistance, guaranteed monthly assistance for each child in the amount of 70% of the subsistence minimum or 20 789 tenge, the exclusion of some types of benefits from the total family income. As a result, more than 277,000 families or more than 1.3 million people received ASA. Since the beginning of the year, the ASA was paid in the amount of 67.7 billion tenge, the average payment amounted to 105 thousand tenge", the Minister said.

Together with the akimats, a Single package of services and social support measures has been developed, including 11 types of assistance, among them providing schoolchildren with free hot meals, school uniforms, textbooks and supplies, preferential travel in public transport for children and mothers, free rest in children's camps, and others.

In his speech, the Minister also accentuated the attention on measures to support families with children.

Thus, in order to support motherhood and childhood, more than 243 billion tenge will be allocated for payments for the birth of a child, child care up to 1 year and social payments for pregnancy and childbirth.

To ensure adequate pensions, pension contributions are subsidized for women on maternity leave. This year, 5.8 billion tenge has been allocated for these purposes.

Currently, there are about 237 thousand mothers with six or more children in Kazakhstan, about 45 billion tenge is allocated annually for the payment of benefits to them.
