The volume of social security and assistance increased by almost 700 billion tenge in 2019

Today, the state guarantees 39 types of social assistance to Kazakhstan citizens. In 2018, pensions and benefits from the budget were issued to 3.8 million people (20.9% of the population) for a total of more than 2.5 trillion. tenge. Payments from the system of compulsory social insurance received about 800 thousand people in the amount of 190 billion tenge.

The Minister of labor and social protection Berdibek Saparbayev reported about it.

"In 2019, the amount of funds for social security and social assistance increased by 674 billion tenge and amounted to 3.3 trillion. tenge. This is 28% of the Republican budget expenditures. 2.9 trillion tenge was allocated for social payments" - Saparbayev pointed out.

The Minister also announced seven priority directions of the Ministry's activity.

The first and most important task is the implementation of new social measures of the Elbasy "Aleumettik kamkorlyk". The improvement of the support system for persons with disabilities has equally importance. In this regard, the Ministry has developed and adopted a National plan on ensuring the rights and improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities until 2025.

In order to increase incomes and realize the rights to work, the priority is to involve Kazakhstan citizens in productive employment, personnel training for the new economy; ensuring decent working conditions and protection of labor rights of workers, regulation of migration processes.

Also the digitalization of the social and labor sphere was defined among the main tasks.
