Ministry of labor, akimat of Karaganda region and "Kazakhmys" signed a Memorandum on the provision of apartments for large families

In the Karaganda region in the near future 120 families will celebrate the housewarming. This will be possible thanks to the signing of a tripartite Memorandum between the Ministry of labor and social protection of the population of RK, akimat of Karaganda region and "Kazakhmys Holding" LLP. The document was signed by Minister Berdibek Saparbayev, akim of the region Erlan Koshanov and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company Eduard Ogay.

"Kazakhmys" will provide housing for its employees with large families, as well as low-income workers and young professionals. The company undertakes to buy 120 apartments for them. 46 families will celebrate the housewarming this year.

It was in Zhezkazgan almost 10 years ago that Nursultan Nazarbayev raised the issue of social responsibility of business. “Kazakhmys” is one of the first companies in the country that responded to the call of Elbasy and the Head of state to social responsibility. Now it not only buys apartments for its employees, but also provides universal support to large and needy families.

B. Saparbayev noted that the problems of socially vulnerable segments of the population, especially the provision of housing for large and low-income families, orphans, require joint actions of the state and business.

"On behalf of the First President of the country, the Ministry is working together with the business community and large enterprises to implement social projects. Thus, in 2018, more than 700 memoranda totaling about 90 billion KZT were signed. In general, over the past 10 years, business structures within the framework of social responsibility allocated more than 300 billion KZT for social projects, sponsorship and charity," the Minister said.

In turn, akim of the region noted the contribution of the business community of Karaganda region in solving social issues in the region.

"Elbasy stressed that "every family of Kazakhstan should feel the results of the reforms today, not in the distant future," Yerlan Koshanov said at the signing ceremony. - More than 12 thousand large families live in the region. We are actively solving their problems. Our business community does not stand aside in this issue. One of the socially active companies is "Kazakhmys" Corporation".

Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Kazakhmys holding" LLP Eduard Ogay said that the social assistance provided by the company will be targeted and systematic.

"Not only the residents of Zhezkazgan will have apartments, but also Satpaev, Balkhash and other settlements where our enterprises operate. Another our task is to help the families of our employees to improve their health, get an education," said Ogay.

Immediately after the signing of the Memorandum, 10 families, each with 4 to 8 children, were handed the keys to the apartments.

On the same day, Berdibek Saparbayev and Erlan Koshanov visited one of the families-settlers. Own long-awaited housing – 4-room apartment with furniture and repair appeared in the widow, mother of 6 children Saltanat Nurlanova.

"Before that, we had to rent a house. Money was enough only for a two-room apartment. I work as a janitor at the company and single-handedly raising 6 kids, I have 4 minors. I am very grateful to the akimat. It is good that Elbasy instructed to help large families," she said.
