Issues of increasing safety and labor protection were discussed by experts at KIOSH-2019

IX Kazakhstan International conference and exhibition on labor protection and industrial safety – KIOSH 2019 is held in Nur-Sultan from 22 to 24 May.

Participants of the conference on the theme "Labor protection and future of labor sphere" became the Minister of labor and social protection of population of Kazakhstan Berdibek Saparbayev, Chairman of the Federation of trade unions of RK Bakytzhan Abdiraiym, President of the International Association of labor inspection Kevin Myers, the Chairman of the Committee for the development of human capital and social policy the business of "Atameken" NCE Talgat Doskenov, Chairman of the Committee of industrial development and industrial safety of the MIIR Kanat Baitov and others.

Opening the meeting, B. Saparbayev noted the reduction of injuries and deaths at the enterprises of the republic. So, the number of victims on industry in 2018 decreased to 6.6% (1568 people) in comparison with a year earlier, the victims of 9.8% (220 people). In terms of economic sectors, the largest number of victims is noted at the enterprises of the mining and metallurgical complex – 18.5% and the construction industry – 12.4%.

According to the analysis, the lack of safe working conditions, the lack of personal and collective protection and the lack of proper training of workers remain the main causes of industrial accidents in the country.

At the same time, the consequence of unfavorable working conditions is not only industrial injuries, but also the number of industrial diseases. In 2018 alone, insurance companies paid 4.5 billion KZT to 2606 employees for compensation for damage caused by disability.

"Noting the identified problems, we set the task to radically reduce jobs with harmful working conditions and reduce industrial injuries, up to zero," B. Saparbayev said.

Ministry of labor and social protection of the population is carrying out comprehensive work in that direction, in particular, for the next 5 years it is planned to revise the regulatory legal acts on safety and labor protection.

Thus, a Road map to reduce industrial injuries and jobs with harmful working conditions in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2019-2023 has been developed. The implementation of the measures adopted in the document will be aimed at improving the efficiency of state control, the introduction of a modern system of professional risk management, automation of functions in the field of labor protection and the effective use of the institute of social partnership.

On the site of the Internet resource of the Ministry of labor, the issue of creating an electronic portal in the field of labor protection integrated with the information system "Labor protection and safety" is being worked out. On the basis of the portal, a system of statistical reporting and an electronic consultant on labor legislation will be created.

The conference participants discussed the development of the industry, the introduction of digital technologies for labor protection and industrial safety in the workplace, new systems of individual and collective protection, occupational safety management systems, as well as state and internal control.

Summarizing the speeches of the participants B. Saparbayev noted the constructive dialogue that has developed at the Conference site. The Minister supported the proposals of the speakers, in particular, the head of the Ministry of labor supported the prevention of labor safety. He spoke about the experience of ERG in Aktobe, where the project "people's control" was implemented, when former employees of the company, for example veterans of labor, can observe the safety of labor at the enterprise.

B. Saparbayev also urged the heads of enterprises gathered at the Conference to support the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev on the annual increase of wages of employees.

The official opening ceremony of the KIOSH-2019 exhibition was held within the framework of the event. 40 companies from Kazakhstan, China, Russia and Turkey took part in it. The exhibition is dedicated to the products of manufacturers and suppliers of protective equipment, textiles, equipment, products for rehabilitation and prevention, as well as large industrial enterprises, training companies and centers for the exchange of experience and knowledge.
