What is a trade union?
A trade union (trade union) is a public association with a fixed membership, voluntarily created on the basis of common labor, industrial and professional interests of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan to represent and protect the labor and socio-economic rights and interests of its members.
A trade union is created at the initiative of a group of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan of at least ten people connected by the community of their professional and industrial interests, convening a constituent congress (conference, meeting), at which the charter is approved and trade union bodies are formed.
Trade unions are created according to the industrial and branch principle on the basis of equality of their members. The number of trade unions created within one industry or organization is not limited. All trade unions are provided with equal legal opportunities.
Trade unions are independent in their activities from state bodies at all levels, political parties, employers and their associations, are not controlled or accountable to them.
Trade unions may form associations of trade unions in accordance with the procedure established by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Trade Unions".
Republican Union of Trade Unions is an association of branch trade unions, territorial unions of trade unions at the level of the region, the city of republican significance and the capital.
Territorial union of trade unions is an association of trade unions at the level of a district, city, region, city of republican significance and the capital.
A branch trade union is an association of employees of one branch of activity (types or subspecies of economic activity) and related industries, local trade unions connected by common labor, industrial and professional interests.
A local trade union is a voluntary association of employees of one or more organizations connected by common labor, industrial and professional interests.
The primary organization of a trade union is a structural subdivision of a trade union located directly in the organization and consisting of trade union members who are employees of this organization.
