The deputy head of the Emergency Department of the Kostanay region, Colonel Azamat Orimbayev, told about the work of rescuers at the height of the summer season during an on-site briefing with representatives of regional media.
"In the coming days, the air temperature is expected to rise to 36 degrees. In this regard, the Emergency Department of the Kostanay region calls on citizens to observe basic safety rules on the water. Unfortunately, this year the statistics of accidents on reservoirs are disappointing. 11 people, including 6 children, drowned and died while swimming, " the representative of the emergency department said.
On these hot days, preventive measures have been strengthened, since there are much more vacationers near the water. The task of rescuers is to warn the population in time, to prevent emergencies in the reservoirs of the region.
Every day, groups of rescuers conduct raids and patrols in the waters of rivers and lakes, artificial pits. Law enforcement officers, local executive bodies, and volunteer organizations provide great assistance in carrying out preventive work with the population.
On July 21, 2021, as part of the planned activities, another raid was carried out along the Tobol River in Kostanay. With the help of a loudspeaker connection from the shore on special equipment, as well as directly from the boats, vacationers were urged to observe measures of safe behavior on the water.
Rescuers visited the central city beach, then visited natural beaches in the area of Gagarinskaya platinum and KZHBI. Leaflets were distributed to vacationers with information about safety rules that should not be neglected while near the water.
During the raid, rescuers and police paid special attention to children who were unaccompanied on the beach. A preventive conversation was also conducted with the teenagers.
