The Minister of Emergency Situations Yuri Ilyin, as part of the government delegation, visited the construction site of the Ayusai selezaderzhivaya dam

A government delegation headed by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin visited the construction site of the Ayusai selezaderzhivaya dam.

During the working trip, the delegation got acquainted with the construction of the dam.

The construction of this dam began last year on the territory of the Ile-Alatau National Park and is planned to be completed in 2023.

To date, construction work has been carried out by 35%. A land dam with a height of 22 meters (out of 40 meters) and a dam of the bypass channel were built. After the completion of the earthen dam, it is planned to begin construction of a bypass serpentine road.

Upon completion of construction, the dam will protect 3 thousand objects and more than 40 thousand people of the city of Almaty from the convergence of mudflows, and will also expand the tourist borders.
