Employees of the Fire Extinguishing and Emergency Rescue Service, together with police officers, checked whether the drivers were giving way to fire trucks. Such a raid is carried out twice a year.
A driver who sees a special car with special signals and sound signals turned on is obliged to give way for unhindered passage. If the driver does not give way to an ambulance or a fire truck, then he will have to respond according to the requirements of legislative acts.
"There are cases when drivers do not pay attention to special signals: they listen to loud music or talk on the phone. In this case, of course, they endanger other people's lives, " said the head of the Fire Extinguishing Service, Lieutenant Colonel of Civil Protection Kuanysh Arslanov.
During the raid, a fire truck was accompanied by one crew on the roads of the city. Everything would have been fine, only one stubborn car owner did not want to give way in any way, despite repeated warnings. The indignant owner of the car gave her arguments. But... the law is the same for everyone. As a result, a protocol was drawn up for the driver and a preventive conversation was held with him.
The Department of Emergency Situations of the city of Shymkent draws the attention of motorists to the traffic rules concerning the passage and following of special equipment:
-when approaching a vehicle with special signals, drivers are obliged to give way to ensure their unhindered passage;
- it is prohibited to overtake a special vehicle;
- when approaching a standing special vehicle with blue flashing lights on, the driver must reduce the speed in order to be able to stop immediately if necessary;
- when choosing a parking place or parking, do not forget to leave free spaces for the passage of special equipment.
Dear drivers! Make way for a fire truck, because an emergency car can rush to the aid of your loved ones!
