According to the results of the first half of 2021, 85 fires were registered in the territory of the city of Shymkent. Compared to the reporting period last year, the number of fires has not changed. Material damage amounted to 310 million 275 thousand tenge (an increase of 3.2 times compared to last year (2020) - 98 million 620 thousand tenge).
The majority of registered fires, or 46%, occur in the residential sector and 32% - in cars. The number of fires that occurred in a residential home for 6 months, compared to last year (2021 – 39 in 2020 - 49) was reduced by 20%, while the fires in vehicles increased by 42% (in 2021 – 27, 2020 - 19).
As a result of fires in the accounting period bereaved (2020 – 4 persons), 2 people were injured, an increase of 100% compared with the previous year (2020)-1 person.
As for the causes of fire, in most cases a fire occurs due to careless handling of fire (38%), violations of the rules of installation and technical operation of electrical equipment (20%) and violations of fire safety rules during installation and operation of furnaces (13%).
