Fire safety in transport

For 12 months of 2020, 102 fires occurred in the territory of the Pavlodar region, material damage amounted to more than 23 million tenge.

A fire on any type of transport can occur unexpectedly and lead to disastrous consequences. What are the most common causes of fire? During the mandatory technical inspection of the vehicle, the condition of the vehicle is monitored, but the electrical equipment and fuel system are not checked. Nevertheless, the main causes of a fire in vehicles are: short circuit of the electrical wiring / electrical units of the engine, careless handling of fire (heating the engine with a blowtorch, smoking, insulation of the engine compartment with a nightmare), breakage or malfunction of the fuel line. Most often this occurs due to non-compliance with the basic requirements of fire safety when operating vehicles.

What should car owners remember:

- each vehicle must be equipped with a serviceable fire extinguisher with a volume of at least 2 liters. At the same time, it is necessary to know the device of the fire extinguisher and be able to use it.

- to keep the components and mechanisms of vehicles in good condition;

- do not allow batteries to be recharged directly on vehicles.

If your car catches fire while driving, follow the following rules of behavior in the car in case of fire:

  1. Stop the car.
  2. Turn off the engine.
  3. Release the hood lock, but do not open the hood.
  4. Remove all passengers.
  5. Call the fire service at the phone number "101", or the rescue service "112".
  6. If it is not dangerous, try to use the fire extinguisher available in the car.
  7. Do not use water when extinguishing a fire in the engine compartment, as this may cause a short circuit of the electrical wiring or the spread of burning gasoline and an increase in the burning area.gorenje

Dear car owners, remember it is easier to prevent a fire than to extinguish it!
