Republican command and staff exercises "Kys-2023" are being held in the capital

In preparation for the winter period, on November 23 and 24, the republican command and staff exercises "Kys-2023" are being held in Astana to prepare the organization of protection of the population and territory from emergencies in the winter period of 2023-2024. The practical training of the exercises in the capital takes place on the territory of the Kazanat racetrack, where measures have been worked out to evacuate victims, clean the roadway, search for lost citizens, provide medical and psychological assistance.
On the first day of the exercise, Deputy Akim of the capital Yersin Otebayev and the head of the Emergency Department, Major General Marat Kuldikov, checked the readiness of emergency rescue units of civil protection to respond to emergency situations arising in the harsh winter. A technical inspection of the warning system with the launch of electric sirens was carried out. According to the plan, the exercises "Kys-2023" are held in five training places.
Within the framework of the RCSHU, tactical and special exercises were conducted to work out several emergency situations: evacuation of people from snow jams, extinguishing a car as a result of a traffic accident, search and rescue operations in heavy precipitation, gusty wind and snow storm, including with the involvement of rescue high-passable equipment. The work of a field control point equipped with the necessary types of communication, a medical support point, a food point, heating points and psychological assistance was clearly presented.
15 snow-bearing sections of highways with a total length of 28.3 km, 16 reception points for victims, which are located in four districts of the city, have been identified on the territory of the city.
During the exercises, the civil protection services worked out issues to increase the level of readiness and ability to eliminate emergencies in the winter period, improve coherence in the work of civil protection subsystems, check the readiness of civil protection services and formations to respond to emergencies in the winter period, check the passage of operational information with district akimats and other services.
A general grouping of civil protection services consisting of 620 personnel and 457 units of rescue, medical and engineering equipment has been formed for rapid response to emergencies in the winter period.
