Today, an online briefing on the flood situation on the territory of the capital was held at the press center of the Akimat, where the speaker was the head of the Department of Emergency Prevention of Nur-Sultan Bauyrzhan Beisenkanov.
To date, the flood situation in the capital is under special control. To coordinate the flood situation, a city operational headquarters has been established since April 1 of this year, flood control commissions are functioning in district akimats, and large-scale preventive work has been organized to clean snow, irrigation ditch and storm water networks. As of April 4, 2022, 40,640 p.m. of the ditch-tray network (total length - 53.7 km) were cleared in Nur–Sultan. The Akimat and the city Department have taken special control of timely snow removal, while special attention is paid to snow removal in 25 flood-prone areas. To date , more than
4.5 million m3 of snow on 7 defined snow polygons.
Engineering and water-pumping equipment consisting of 169 people, 103 pieces of equipment, 34 motor pumps and 2 boats are fixed to flood-prone areas. In the round-the-clock mode, all citizens' appeals are received by the 112 rescue service telephone line and the Ikomek service, which promptly sends water-pumping equipment to the flooding site.
To carry out flood control measures on the basis of Astana Tazalyk LLP, 7,300 pieces of sacks, about 10,000 tons of inert material have been prepared, of which 9300 tons of dredge, 155 tons of sand, 500 tons of sand–salt mixture.
From February 7 to the present day, the Department's employees have been conducting rounds through the residential sectors of the city in order to inform the population
about the need for timely removal of snow
from the house territory to the street. To date, 115 raids have been carried out with a total coverage of 10,500 yards
with the delivery of 13,000 pieces of propaganda material.
The Department has developed 12,000 pieces of propaganda and preventive materials, video/audio clips
on various emergency topics, which are broadcast at more than 30 trade facilities, shopping malls, shopping malls, TD, markets and shops.
Dear residents, since the responsibility for timely cleaning of snow from the territory of the private residential sector lies with the owner of the house, residents of the private sector need to clean snow from the territory of the house with further removal to the side of the roadway, for subsequent mechanized cleaning, also arrange drainage from the house into gutters or culverts, provide water-pumping facilities in advance: household electric pumps, buckets, shovels, etc.
