How to prevent children from falling out of windows

Unfortunately, incidents when children fall out of the windows of high-rise buildings have ceased to be a rarity. And it is only by great chance that such incidents sometimes do not end in death. Most accidents happen to children due to parents' inattentive attitude to their safety.

When a child disappears from the field of view of adults and is left alone with an open window, the risk of falling is very high. All cases of falling are united by a factor, the dangers of which are regularly warned by the Emergency Department of the Almaty region – children were left unattended by adults!

In addition, the absent-mindedness of the same adults who forget to close the windows, the absence of blockers or window handles-locks, the incorrect arrangement of furniture that allows kids to climb on the window sills on their own, as well as the presence of mosquito nets that create only the illusion of a closed window.

Children, because of their curiosity, are very vulnerable to an open window. This is evidenced by the annual terrible statistics on the mortality of children from falling out of windows.

- If there is a child at home, never keep the windows open! The second you are distracted for may be the last in your child's life!

- Never use mosquito nets - children leaning on them, fall out with them!

-Never leave a child unattended!
- Move all types of furniture away from the windows so that the child cannot climb on the windowsill.

- If you show something to the child from the window - always fix it firmly, be prepared for sudden movements of the baby, keep your palms dry, do not hold the child by the clothes.

- If possible, open the windows from the "top" position (front ventilation), and not from the "bottom";

- Put special devices on the windows (limiters, blockers, retainers, etc.) or unscrew the fastening handles, remove them higher so that the child cannot open the window on his own;

All of the above rules should be followed with respect to balconies.
